ARE YOU ASKING THE RIGHT QUESTIONS?

In today’s day and age this seems to be an important question which many of us seem to ignore until it comes to bite us later on in time.

Due to various society pressures as well as peer, friends, family we tend to agree that it is time to get married as if it’s a train that we are going to miss in life. The fact of the matter is that many of us think that we need to marry someone who is marriage material or who fits the bill of a husband or wife perfectly.

Set A I believe that the actual aim on the other hand should be to think – Is this person the person who I want to spend the rest of my life with? Do I want to grow old with this person? Does this person make me happy? Do I love this person? These are the right questions to ask.

Set B While most of us ask the Set B type of questions to ourselves. They usually are: Is this person financially sound? Is he/ she stable in career and life? Will our marriage be a practical one? Does he/she spend too much time at work?

It is the very questions that we ask ourselves that defines what decisions we will take and our future is shaped accordingly.

Many people ask the Set B type of questions, get the YES answers and get married. After a few years into the marriage they start asking the Set A questions and start getting the NO answers. And then they realise that these are the questions that really matter in life. And then starts the process of separation and divorce or people have hidden affairs with people who actually make them happy.

The whole scenario is that we as individuals have so many choices. Choices when it comes to love partners. So irrespective of whether we are married or in a relationship, we might spot that soul mate that we just know is right for us and we get the YES answers to the Set A questions.

So ladies and gentleman it is time that we start asking the questions that really matter in life so that we don’t regret our decisions in the future – after all there are no retakes in life and lost time cannot come back. And for those who did not think of the Set A questions before, mates it is time that you start asking them and if you are getting No answers, then it is time to make radical changes to your love life irrespective of whether you are married or in a live-in – Have the courage to fight for your dreams and still unfound soul mates – don’t settle for less – your soul mate is out there.
